Rhino 7
Rhino3d is one of the most versatile modelling software in the world. It is used by architects, designers, jewellers, engineers, builders and makers, adapting to each one’s needs. Whether you are creating, editing, analysing, documenting, rendering or animating 3d models Rhino3d will bring unparalleled performance at a very competitive pricing.
While handling freeform surfaces in NURBS format and in subdivision geometry (SubD), Rhino3d can manage also lines, curves, point clouds and mesh geometry, making it one of the most sought-after software for interoperability today.
Used by architecture studios like Zaha Hadid Architects, MAD Architects, BIG, 3XN, UN Studio all around the worlds, facilitates free form modelling of smooth, organic-like surfaces and streamlines their construction.
Rhino can create, edit, analyse, document, render, animate, and translate NURBS* curves, surfaces, solids and subdivision geometry (SubD), point clouds, and polygon meshes. There are no limits on complexity, degree, or size beyond those of your hardware.
Special features include:
- Uninhibited free-form 3D modelling tools like those found only in products costing 20 to 50 times more. Model any shape you can imagine.
- Accuracy needed to design, prototype, engineer, analyze, and manufacture anything from an airplane to jewellery.
- Compatibility with all your other design, drafting, CAM, engineering, analysis, rendering, animation, and illustration software.
- Read and repair meshes and extremely challenging IGES
- Accessible. So easy to learn and use that you can focus on design and visualization without being distracted by the software.
- Fast, even on an ordinary laptop computer. No special hardware is needed.
- Development platform for hundreds of specialty 3D products.
- Affordable. Ordinary hardware. Short learning curve. Affordable purchase price. No maintenance fees.
- Rhino for Mac: The world’s most versatile 3D modeler, available on macOS.
New in Rhino 7
You can create organic shapes with our new SubD tools. Run Rhino and Grasshopper as a Revit® Add-On with Rhino.Inside.Revit. Use the robust QuadRemesh algorithm to create a beautiful quad mesh from NURBS geometry or meshes.
SubD
For designers who need to explore organic shapes quickly, SubD is a new geometry type that can create editable, highly accurate shapes. Unlike other geometry types, SubD combines free-form accuracy while still allowing quick editing.
Accurate, organic modeling just got easier. Push and pull to explore complex, free-form shapes in realtime.
SubD objects are highly accurate and can be converted directly to manufacturable solids. You can also convert scan or mesh data into SubD objects, then optionally to NURBS.
Rhino.Inside.Revit
Rhino.Inside.Revit brings the power of Rhino and Grasshopper to the Autodesk Revit® environment and manipulate Revit native geometry from simple geometric elements such as axes and family parameters.
Rhino.Inside is a new technology that allows embedding Rhino into other 64-bit Windows applications. Rhino.Inside.Revit is based on this technology and provides a platform for an unprecedented level of integration between Rhino and Revit.
Technically speaking, it is an add-on for Revit that loads Rhino and its plugins (e.g. Grasshopper) into Revit’s memory, just like any other Revit add-ons. Grasshopper brings a collection of new components for interacting with Revit, as well as providing access to the two software APIs (Application Programming Interfaces) using its script components.
Practically speaking, Rhino.Inside.Revit provides a set of tools for bridging the gap between Rhino’s free-form modeling and the world of BIM, opening Grasshopper’s rich ecosystem to the Revit environment, enabling completely new design workflows and possibilities.
QuadRemesh
Quickly create a quad mesh from existing surfaces, solids, meshes, or SubDs—ideal for rendering, animation, CFD, FEA, and reverse-engineering.
Presentation, documentation and package manager
A series of improvements to viewport presentation and rendering tools such as PBR materials, removal of noise artifacts from renderings using Artificial Intelligence algorithms, emissive materials, light intensity fallof.
Refining ways of working and introducing new elements of layer management and visualization, transparent and gradient hatches, named selections, single line fonts, tools for molding and reading and writing improvements native formats from and to other software.
Update views to the latest OpenGL standards for modern hardware and performance improvements.
New tools for documenting models such as layout management, fields with text attributes in rhino but also in blocks with global attributes such as project name, date, author, but also specific to geometry such as layout name or geometric area.
A package manager that simplifies the management, search and installation of add-ons for Rhino and Grasshopper.
Windows and Mac

Rhino 7 is now available for Windows and Mac. Use your Rhino 7 licence to work on a Mac or on a Windows session. Just sit down at a computer, login to your Rhino account while using the Cloud Zoo and start working. A familiar Rhino interface and almost full functionality is now available to Mac users. Grasshopper is also included and some plugins have support for Mac also.
Presentation and rendering

An improved presentation features in Rhino 7 enables you to communicate better in every stage of design, from conceptual work to final product presentations and animation. A wide range of preset materials, a new rendering engine and OpenGL support for gaming and professional video cards make Rhino the perfect tool to capture, render and present your projects more beautifully.
Grasshopper

The world’s foremost parametric modelling software for architects and designers now comes included in Rhino 7. All of your past scripts are fully compatible with Rhino 7, along with some other improvements like: high dpi output, parallel processing, ability to code inside a Grasshopper node.
In the past decade Grasshopper has become a very robust development platform that offers a solid foundation for may incredible third party components ranging from environmental analysis to robotic control.
3d drawing and drafting

Take advantage of new drawing tools that transform your 3d model into 2d representations for documentation and illustration. Customize the appearance and deliver vector format 2d drawings of your 3d vision.
Documentation

Use a full range of customizable annotations to document your projects with rich text and layout tools. Presenting the process of your project hasn’t been easier in 2d or in 3d visualizations.
Mesh geometry

Edit Mesh geometry with ease. Check mesh integrity, repair, create or modify mesh geometry. Convert NURBS to mesh and prepare geometry for fabrication.
Plug-ins

Extend your Rhino functionality with an ecosystem of plugins and an open set of development tools. Now its even easier to find documentation online with guides and API references for advanced programming. Go to Food4Rhino for a full resource of scripts definitions, tutorials, materials or plugins to extend the functionality of your Rhino 3d modeller.
Licencing

Take advantage of Rhino’s licencing options available:
- Cloud Zoo (New) – Make your licenses available anywhere in the world through a login (a Rhino accout is required).
- Single-Computer – License Rhino to one single computer.
- Zoo – Float a set of Rhino licenses within your private network (a Zoo server is required).
